1. A teachers’ meeting to be held next Tuesday to consider the materials of the Welsh Translation Society for the use of the school.
2.That the teachers’ meeting should take into account the school’s needs for Testaments.
3. That the quarterly school be held six weeks today.

Mr. Humphreys in the chair.
1. The secretary D B Phillip read out a letter from Mr. Croesgochiad Griffith, Cardiff the correspondence Secretary of the Union of Sunday Schools of the Baptists of Wales in relation to the Scripture Examination.
( Note:- Mr. Croesgochiad Griffith was in fact Henry Griffith a native of Croesgoch, Pembrokeshire. Croesgoch translates to Red Cross. Information given by Anne Griffiths)
2. That brother Anthony Thomas will be in charge of the class of 16 to 20 year olds. Mr. D. B. Phillip will be in charge of the 12 to 16 year olds and Mr. David Bassett will be in charge of the under twelve year olds. Mr. Humphreys (the Minister) will be in charge of those over twenty years old.
3. That all the classes will meet on Tuesday evening after the service to make the necessary arrangements.
4. That the secretary will purchase note-books for the use of those intending to sit the examination.

Mr. Humphreys in the chair.
1. It was decided to ask brother John Williams, Fron to become the Superintendent of the School instead of Daniel Bassett. If that is not possible then brother Thomas Price will take on the job.
2. That brother Henry Williams will become the teacher of the class formerly taken by Edward Roberts
3. That brother John Rees, Pleasant Hill will take on the class formerly taught by Willie Thomas.
4. That brother John Morgans will deputise for Edward William until he recovers.
5. That brother William Griffiths will become the teach of the class formerly taken by Margaret Rowlands.
6. That the secretary will send for educational resources for the children in the vestry.
7. That the matter of having a treat for the school will be postponed until a week today.
8. That we ask sister Sarah Jane Francis to take on the class formerly taught by Mary Francis.

2. A letter from Croesgochiad was read out regarding obtaining the certificates for the successful candidates in the Examination of the Union of Sunday Schools of the Baptists of Wales.
3. It was decided that the school will pay for the certificates.
4. It was decided that the Sunday School will have a Tea Festival as a treat this year.
5. It was decided that the Tea Festival will be free to the children of the Sunday School and also free to the church.
6. That the Tea Festival will be held on Saturday 16th July.
7. That the following brothers will form a committee to make the necessary arrangements. Walter Thomas, David Morris, John Jones Fron, E. Roberts, G. Howel (Powel), Thomas Griffiths, Thomas Price, David Rees, W. Bowen, D.B. Phillip and the Minister.

Minutes of the Tea Festival Committee held Friday evening on the 28th June 1898
Mr. Humphreys was elected to the chair.
It was decided that
1. 600 slices of Bara Brith will be served.
2. That this year all the Bara Brith will be bought from the town’s tradesmen.
3. That Mr. John Thomas, Swansea Road and Mr. W, Phillip, Thomas Street, Llanelli will supply the Bara Brith. Two hundred pounds each of currant cake at 30 shillings per hundred and one hundred sultana cake at 32 shillings.
4. That brothers Thomas Griffiths and Thomas Price will take charge of ordering the Bara Brith.
5. That 40 pounds of plain bread will be ordered from Catherine Phillip, Margaret Thomas, Mary Morgan and Ann Bassett. Brother E Roberts will inform them of the order.
6. That fifteen pounds of butter will be provided by John Rees, Celwnwg, William Price, Tanygraig and D. Richards, Ysuborisaf. Brother Daniel Hughes will make the necessary arrangements with them.
7. That they will ask brothers William Bowen, Daniel Price, Mrs. William, Quarry and William Davies, Cwmllethryd to supply the milk. Borthers William Bowen and Thomas Price will take care of the arrangements.

MINUTES OF THE TEA FESIVAL COMMITTEE
Held on Sunday afternoon on the 3rd July 1898
Mr. E. Roberts was elected to the chair.
1. Reports were received from brothers Thomas Price and Thomas Griffiths regarding the Bara Brith. Messrs John Thomas and William Griffiths have accepted and agreed to the request.
2. Reports were received from Edward Roberts about the Plain Bread. The sisters who had been approached have agreed to the committee’s request.
3. It was decided to ask the sisters Sarah Rendal Pant teg, Margaret Thomas, Adulam Street, Anne Evans, Fron, Elizabeth Morris, Ruth Davies and Anne Francis to make the tea - the secretary will inform them.
4. It was decided that the following sisters will be in charge of the tables.

Mary Griffiths and Hannah Williams, Stepney Street

7. That the committee will ensure that no one drinks tea until the procession returns.
8. That brothers David Morris and Thomas Price will ask brother William Price, Tanygraig for the loan of a field for the children to play in.
9. That toys to the value of £1.0.0 will be purchased to amuse the children.

MINUTES OF THE REVIVALISTIC COMMITTEE OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
It was decided:-
1. That the low attendance at the Sunday School will be drawn to the especial attention of the Church officials. We expect those officials who are neglecting the School to attend regularly and to work together actively to ensure the success of one of the Church’s greatest assets.
2. In the face of the present dire situation at the Sunday School we request that Mr. Humphreys (the Minister) delivers a sermon emphasising the merits of the school as well as its importance to the Church and to the congregation.

2. That there is an earnest request that all the Sunday School teachers attend the meeting next Sunday afternoon for the purpose of working together to ensure the success of the Sunday School.

Then they should prepare a full report to be considered by the committee on Sanday afternoon a fortnight today.
3. That we order six dozen testaments for the school - the secretary will arrange this.

1. We as a committee believe that it would be appropriate to return to the old system of calling out the teachers names and displaying the number of students in the class. One verse only to be sung at 3 o’clock.
2. That we hold a Magic Lantern show on the Monday evening of Christmas. The superintendents will speak to brother W. B. Jones regarding this matter.
3. That we will get the teachers a School Attendance Register so that we can find out the names of the absentees.

1. It was decided that the teachers of the children in the vestry be re-elected.
2. That the secretary and the Superintendent Thomas Price be also re-elected.
3. It was decided that there will be an extra superintendent for the school since the work load increased.
4. That brother Daniel Hughes will be superintendent for the time being.
5. That brother David Jenkins will take on the work of William Davies.
